About Oven to Air Fryer Converter: Who Writes It, How It’s Tested, and How It’s Funded

Oven to Air Fryer Converter is built and maintained by Sarah Maria, a home baker and freelance programmer in Ohio. Every conversion published here is tested in a home kitchen before it goes up, and cross-referenced against published manufacturer guidance.

This page covers who writes the site, the basis for the figures, how the site is funded, and how to report a conversion that did not work.

Who writes this site

Sarah Maria has been baking since 2010, when she started in college, and now works as a freelance programmer. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two children, and maintains this site between client work and the baking that started it.

The combination is the reason the site exists. The conversion problem is arithmetic wrapped around cooking, and it needed someone who cared about both halves.

Why this site was built

It began with a kitchen full of recipes written for an oven and an air fryer that cooked all of them wrong. Burnt on the outside, underdone in the middle, or dry — the usual results of using oven numbers unchanged.

The conversion charts available at the time were thin, inconsistent with each other, and silent about when they stopped working. So Sarah built the calculator she wanted, then kept adding to it as each new food revealed another exception to the rule.

How the figures are tested

Every figure starts from two sources: published manufacturer guidance for air fryers and convection ovens, and the long-established conversion practice that guidance is built on.

From there, conversions are cooked. Sarah tests them in her own kitchen, and family and friends cook them in theirs — which matters more than it sounds, because they own different units at different wattages, and a figure that only works on one air fryer is not a figure worth publishing.

This is home-kitchen testing, not laboratory testing, and the distinction is worth stating plainly. There is no calibrated test chamber behind these numbers. What there is: repeated cooking across several appliances, internal-temperature checks for every protein, and a willingness to publish the conditions under which a conversion fails rather than only the conditions where it works.

The full derivation of the rules, and the seven documented cases where the standard conversion does not hold, are set out on the methodology page.

How this site makes money

Two ways, and both are disclosed on every page where they appear.

Affiliate commission. As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases. Where a product is recommended, it is recommended because its capacity or wattage suits the conversion being discussed — a larger basket for a whole chicken, a thermometer for a cut with a narrow doneness window. Commission does not decide which products appear, and no product is recommended for a job it does not do.

Display advertising. Standard advertising appears on some pages. Advertisers have no involvement in the content.

How do you report a correction?

If a conversion here did not work in your kitchen, that is worth knowing — write to hi@oventoairfryerconverter.com.

Corrections are logged with dates on the methodology page. A reference site that never publishes a correction is either perfect or not paying attention, and we would rather be the kind that says which figure changed and why.

Related conversions and adjacent topics

Temperature and time convert together, never separately. The same rule set covers every appliance pair on this site, and the methodology page sets out where it comes from and the seven conditions under which it stops holding.

Every figure above is built into the oven to air fryer conversion calculator, which applies both adjustments together so you do not have to work them out separately.
